SMNO7705Racing Career

I am an ex-professional cyclist and GB age group triathlete. I am currently an Ambassador for Specialized and race for the UK based Magspeed Racing.

I previously raced with a German UCI Pro Team, Abus Nutrixxion and in the UK for Rapha-CondorMuleBar Girl – Sigma Sport and Cannondale Girls.

During my career I have clocked up 24 wins, 47 podiums and over 100 top ten places on a national and international stage. My results include:

  • The Tour Series Stoke
  • The Tour Series 2nd overall standings
  • The National Women’s Road Race Series – 2nd overall and race win
  • The UK 70.3 (5th overall, first non-pro athlete)
  • National Masters Road Race Champion
  • German Bundesliga Road Race
  • X-Terra Belgium (age group win, first non-pro athlete)
  • South East Road Race Champion
  • Red Bull Time Laps – Fastest Lap

When I first started racing I won my first ever crit race, road race, time trial and my first mountain bike XC race. I have also represented Great Britain at the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships.

This year I am racing over longer distances and more extreme terrains by targeting adventure, gravel and endurance races starting with the Dirty Reiever in Kielder Forest in April 2020.

Coaching Ethos

I am dedicated to motivating and inspiring you to become fitter, faster and stronger and I love nothing more than watching my athletes grow, develop and exceed their expectations.

I am a strong believer in tailoring coaching to your specific needs and goals based on the foundation of an honest and open relationship. I place a clear emphasis on listening to you and understanding what will work for you. I will always seek to discover the person behind the athlete and to coach the individual rather than just coaching the sport. Clear communication between us both will also underpin the success of our partnership.

I am a coach at Ful-on Tri Triathlon Club and deliver regular bike skills sessions with Specialized. I was previously the Team Manager for the South East Region Youth Road Team, part of British Cycling’s Performance Pathway to develop the country’s most promising cycling talent.  I also have experience of race promotion, staging the UK’s first ever women’s only track meet with the MuleBar Girls, the hugely popular VeloJam.

When I’m not coaching, training or racing, I work in safeguarding and have a background in counselling. The skills and expertise I apply at work are also incredibly valuable in coaching such as the ability to actively listen, to empathise and encouraging people to find their own answers.CW Photo Bike
