What can a coach do for me?

I have been lucky enough to have some fantastic coaches and I have learnt a lot from each of them. I know I wouldn’t have been able to achieve half of what I have without their involvement and support. For me, there are five key principles of our coaching/athlete relationship that will make you fitter, stronger and faster.

I am so certain that you will reap the benefits of working with a coach that I am offering your first month of coaching, worth £70, for FREE if you sign up before 30th April 2020. Get in touch on (+44) 07793122054 or Teamheadset@gmail.com

1. A holistic approach

There are many constituent parts to fulfilling your potential and using my holistic approach to training we will consider all the pieces of your performance puzzle.

  • motivation
  • tactics
  • race strategy
  • nutrition
  • race preparation
  • technique
  • confidence
  • race selection
  • mental preparedness
  • training sessions

My holistic approach will also consider you as a person. Through understanding what motivates you, the hurdles you face, the barriers you’ve broken down and the opportunities that await, I will be able to get the very best out of you.

2. Knowledge

I will understand the demands of your target event and support you to meet its specific requirements. Guaranteeing increased efficiency and increased speed.  I will design a training plan based on sound scientific principles and empower you to safely push the boundaries of what you thought possible.

Sport is a complex business and I will also share my knowledge and experiences with you, so you will benefit from my expertise that I have gained over the past 15 years.

3. Maximise effectiveness

One of the things we all wish we had more of is time. Even if you have only a limited amount available to dedicate to your sport, I will help you to truly use it to the maximum potential.

By considering everything I know about you, such as your life commitments, routine, work, family, goals, experience and abilities I will create a training plan that is specific to you. I will only set sessions that are relevant to you and your goals, therefore removing time wasted on training that will not increase your performance.

I will also help you set challenging but attainable and specific goals. Having a goal to aim for will help you focus attention, maintain your discipline and make your achievements measurable.

4. Support

As your coach I am also your mentor. I will be there to talk to when things aren’t going well and I will help you overcome obstacles such as disappointment, illness, injury and challenges in training or racing. I will help you see things from a different perspective and help you to identify ways to move forwards.

I am also there to celebrate your achievements and congratulate you on your development, dedication and growth as an athlete. Having a confidante is possibly one of the most under recognised reasons why working with a coach can bring about such performance gains. Sometimes the physical training can be the easier part while the other building blocks to maximising your potential can feel quite a lot harder on your own. Mastering these will increase your performance come race day.

5. Accountability

Have you ever found yourself doing a session because you know you are good at it but avoiding the ones you don’t feel as confident with? I will help you develop the will power and discipline to really focus on where the gains can be made.

Having someone to answer to, knowing that I know whether you complete a session, can also help to get you out of the door when the rain is lashing down.

I also hold myself accountable for your progress and am committed to ongoing learning so that the work we do together is always up to date and relevant.

If this has inspired you I would love to hear from you. I am so confident that you will rapidly make performance gains that I am offering your first month of coaching for FREE if you sign up before 30th April 2020. Get in touch on (+44) 07793122054 or Teamheadset@gmail.com
